Verner Panton – Panton Chair by Vitra

Created by the Danish designer Verner Panton, the single piece,
cantilevered plastic stacking chair has achieved such iconic status that it has appeared on the front cover of Vogue,
one of the earliest models is now in the collection of Museum of Modern Art in New York,
and it has even been included in the Danish Culture Canon.
Verner Panton started designing the chair in 1960 and in 1963 his work with Vitra began. It was 4 years later that Vitra and Panton finally were able to present the first model of the Panton chair, made in fibreglass.
The more recent model is made out of injection-moulded plastic.
Stamped on base with Verner Panton.
