1950s Pre production early Coconut Chair.
Triangular seat of steel with upholstered seating area in black naugahyde.
Off white steel frame with rare one piece polished steel frame legs.
What makes this chair unique is the way the upholstery attaches to the steel shell.
There is a rim like area that the upholstery is slotted in that I have not seen on any other early production models that usually have a removable cover that fasten with large press studs.
Truly a rare find and a must for any George Nelson collector.
Vintage condition.
