Clive Bacon – Iconic Jigsaw Chairs

These chairs are held by the V&A as part of their Furniture and Woodwork Collection.
The designer Clive Bacon won the Design Centre Award for the chair in 1963.
They are a linking and stacking chair, with a steamed beech frame with great grain and golden patina.
They were manufactured in England by Design Furnishing Contracts Limited.
The chairs can be interlocked through the use of pegged joints so they can run together in rows/benches and they can also be stacked in sixes.
