Gerrit Rietveld – Zig Zag Chair

1970s Zig Zag Chair.
Designed by Rietveld originally in 1934.
This chair sees the normal legs-seatback sequence replaced by a single sheet of wood in an overturned Z shape.
It was also one of the first examples of a cantilevered seat.
Laminated birch construction with golden patina.
Although seating area is made of wood they are extremely comfortable.

Teak and Wicker construction with great patina.
Produced for the Chandigarh project in India.
Le Corbusier was in charge and the project which included all the furniture for the administrative buildings and housing.
Le Corbusier chose Pierre Jeanneret his cousin and life long collaborator to help.
This is one of the popular chairs and is great versatile chair that looks great in any room.
Classic Jeanneret scissor leg detailing.
Looks great with or without cushion.

1974 rarely seen 1-2-3 System Chaise.
Classic Sculptural chaise more like a piece of pop art then a chaise.
Newly re-upholstered in Kvadrat Tonus 4 fabric and the colour is in keeping to the original chair.
Wooden ball feet all solid and intact.
Great lines and super comfy a great statement piece.
